Howdy everyone,

Please take a moment to offer up some suggestions on how we handle reinforcements for AI on domination

In the past, we used to have Helicopters dropping off troops

But would you like to see another way?

Please discuss, and keep it on TOPIC. We are aware of bugs but they are being worked on this week with any luck, also keep the discussion to the reinforcements for the moment, please

Having them drive into the AO would work too, I can imagine a mass turtle migration but with troops

The biggest issue I personally have with domi is that a lot of it is lying on a hill shooting things from afar. Any armour is often dealt with before it becomes a threat. Any changes that make that tactic unsafe are welcome IMO. Maybe have the AI call in mortars and/or fast movers if you stay in one spot for too long.

Definitely mortars, I don't know about fast movers as we don't usually carry any form AA ever.

Right now lets keep it on track with just how reinforcing AI get to the AO.

Would like to see return of helicopters for reinforcement
- nice to have air threat without it turning bonkers
- worked well with sudden insertion of multible full enemy squads who in the past acts like they have good intel on us. Gives immidiate infantry threat, where normal patrols are not always so keen on hunting us down.
- off topic: other ways to include logistical helicopters as targets of opertunity?

Would like to see truck reinforcements spawning outside of circle
- maybe spawn a 'base' to the enemy away from AO restricted for players. It gives a sense of direction where from to expect something major and real ambush, and scout opertunity + expands the range of infantry angles to aproach the enemy (mines, charges, set up MG...)
- more incoming vehicles arriving in convoys rather than the gently sprinkling of vehicles all over the map as currently.

Would you guys prefer if there would be less enemies on AO start and slowly reinforcements would arive. Meaning a single helicopters lands and 5-10 mins later 2 trucks.
  • Means more FPS
  • Possible less visuals over a period of time.

Or would you guys prefer the current/old way, spawn a shit ton of enemies, once a chunk of them are dead spawn in a random reinforcement with more men.
  • Less FPS
  • More enemies to kill over a period of time

In the eind about the same amount of enemies will be spawned in an AO. But with the first idea they will slowly add up and might make it a bit more realistic.

+1 for first option

Especially ground reinforcements would make establishing security more nessecary and it rewards squads who complete AOs in little time with fewer resistance during their offensive while "hill campers" give the enemy plenty of time to reinforce their positions.

I really like the ground reinforcements idea. With the helicopters you can see exactly where the reinforcements are being dropped off but with ground units you may not even know that they're there until they start shooting you.
That said, I don't see why we can't have both, and there may be some pathfinding issues to iron out

with that I would be nice to see it being maybe random so one time its 2 trucks and 1 chopper second time its 1 chopper and one truck and third time maybe be 3 trucks so you dont know its always 3 or 4 trucks when you see one or its always 3 choppers.
